Putting patients at the heart of health and care is being put into a practice with a Brighton project that delivers the technology that citizens want.

Steve Jobs said you have to start with the customer experience, and work backwards to the technology. The same holds true in health and care technology; but the customer – the citizen – does not always come first.

In Brighton, a Digital Health Living Lab has been established that starts with the citizen experience, to explore and deliver the technology they want. As a result, citizens get the technology they need, commissioners get the outcomes they desire, and suppliers can test and enhance their products for wider use across health and care.
